Volleyball App (“the App”, “we”, “our”) helps players organize and participate in games. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
- Account and Profile Data: name, avatar, and preferences you set in the App (e.g., notification opt-ins, game minimum).
- Game and Chat Content: games you create or join and messages you send in chat.
- Device and Notification Data: a device identifier and an Expo push notification token so we can deliver notifications to your device.
- Usage Data: basic event data about how you use the App (e.g., opening the app, saving settings) for functionality and troubleshooting.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve App features, including game creation, joining/leaving games, and chat.
- Send push notifications you opt into, such as game updates, join/leave notices, and chat messages.
- Maintain the security and reliability of the App and diagnose issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.
Push Notifications
You can control notifications in the App’s profile settings and in your device settings: iOS Settings → Notifications → Volleyball App. If you disable notifications, we will stop using your push token for new notifications.
Legal Bases
Where applicable, we process your data to perform our contract with you (to provide the App) and based on your consent (for optional notifications). You may withdraw consent at any time in settings.
Sharing of Information
- Service Providers: We use trusted providers to operate the App, for example:
- Supabase (data storage and authentication)
- Expo Push Service / Apple Push Notification service (delivery of notifications)
- Apple App Store (app distribution)
These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that protect your information.
- Legal and Safety: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the App and its users.
Data Retention
We retain profile, game, chat, and device/notification data for as long as you use the App and as needed to provide the service. Push tokens may be removed automatically if a device is reported as unregistered or when you disable notifications.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your Choices and Rights
- Update your profile and notification preferences in the App.
- Disable notifications in device settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us at the email below.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
International Transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. These locations may have different data protection laws than your country.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and may provide additional notice in the App.
